Attorney and Counselor at Law

Mel Williams brings more than 25 years of practical legal experience to bear in assisting you. Mel has appeared before the highest courts in Virginia in service to his clients. 

Mel's practice has focused on employment matters for nearly 20 years. 

Prior to that Mel represented insurance companies, municipalities, corporations, and employees in a variety of litigation matters, and he prosecuted criminal cases from disorderly conduct to capital murder. 

Mel will hear you out - give you the opportunity to share your concerns and needs in your legal matter.

Mel will take the time to research and consider your issues and advise you, not just on the law, but on other important aspects of any legal matter, such as how much a particular course of action might cost, public perception, impact on business and personal reputation, and the probable duration of a proposed course of action.

Mel obtained his law degree from Marshall-Wythe School of Law at The College of William and Mary, after receiving his bachelor's degree from Bridgewater College. 

Mel is also an Anglican bishop as part of the worldwide Anglican Communion. 

With his wife, Ela, he enjoys traveling especially to scuba diving destinations. 

Meghan Strickler

A native of Botetourt County, Meghan Strickler returned home after graduating from Ohio Northern University - Pettit College of Law, where she was the recipient of the Carl Frederick Klein, Clara E. Berry Klein and Robert W. Summers, M.D. Scholarship. Meghan obtained her B.A. from Virginia Commonwealth University in journalism. 

Prior to joining Mel Williams PLC, Meghan represented individuals in criminal and civil matters throughout the Roanoke Valley.
